The Boot Camp for back yard baby robins June 8, 2011

We have a robins nest in the back yard under our deck.It now sits empty. The nest had 4 babies in it.
On the weekend I went outside to mow the lawn. When I entered the back yard I had robins diving at me.
I looked up at the nest just as the last baby swooped out of the nest and landed on the fence.
The baby robin was very unsteady and sat on the fence for a few hours.
The parents went off flying with the other babies and came back about every 5 min. to check on the baby.
It would start to flap its wings but no flight. This went on for a long time.
The baby finally flew a few feet to another part of the fence and practiced flapping it’s wings but no flight.
Finally after about 3 hours the baby finally flew away. It’s a little sad no more birds in the nest…….
Just like Boot Camp sometimes it feels like it will take forever to reach your goals but with practice,
persistence and a little guidance you reach your goal.
